Métis Local 97

Hello. Tanshi. Bonjour. Tansi!

Métis Local 97

Chitek Lake ……. is our backyard!

The resort village of Chitek Lake is located 56 km northwest of Spiritwood on Hwy 24, on the east side of the pine-encircled deepwater lake of the same name. While visiting the community, take advantage of the year-round recreation including boating and fishing for trophy walleye and northern pike and trails for ATVing, hiking, biking and snowmobiling.
The less than 2 hour commute from many of Saskatchewan’s major cities is well worth the drive to experience all that it has to offer; boating, fishing, quading, snowmobiling, and beaches are just a few of the fun, family-friendly activities the residents and visitors can enjoy!

Métis Nation – Western Region I

Chitek Lake is in the Rural Municipality of Big River No. 555. It is approximately 230 km (140 mi) northwest of Saskatoon, 115 km (71 mi) northeast of North Battleford, and 120 km (75 mi) west of Prince Albert. The Pelican Lake First Nation reserve borders the resort village. Chitek Lake has a population of 300 people year round.  In the summer months we have many cabin goers, campers, fishers and outdoor enthusiasts join us season after season.
